I just wanted to be the one to lift you up and help you be the best you, you can be. And the one who reminds you you’re amazing in every single way, every single day. This all may be a bit saccharine and cliche, but that’s okay. The cynics won’t believe me either way. Still tracing our steps for when that message got mangled. We lost hope and gave up on communication.

The timing and irony of you shutting down after all these years of hating me for the same thing in the moment I’m trying to open.
